Hello Lovelies,
I will never see my backyard the same way since reading “The Comfort of Crows.”
Easy Read
“The Comfort of Crows” Book Review was fun to write because it is such an amazing book. It’s all about Margaret Renkl’s backyard and the creatures and plants that live there. The book has fifty-two chapters that take you through each week of the year, from a crow sighting on New Year’s Day to the return of the bluebirds in December. Renkl does a fantastic job of capturing the ups and downs of nature, and I felt like I was right there in her backyard with her.
But it’s not just about nature – the book also touches on life’s changing rhythms, from kids coming back home during the pandemic to the transformation of the city and countryside where Renkl raised her family. It’s a really lovely and multi-layered read.
Beautiful Artwork
Oh, and the artworks by the author’s brother, Billy Renkl, are just stunning. I had the urge to cut them out and frame them. They add so much to the stories, making the whole experience even more immersive.
Overall, “The Comfort of Crows” is a heartwarming and captivating book. It’s a deeply moving and visually captivating journey through the eyes of a true nature enthusiast. This book has not only enriched my understanding of the natural world but also deepened my appreciation for the beauty and complexity of life around us. Highly recommend checking it out!
