Hello Lovelies, With summer upon us and in all her glory, I wanted to share a fantastic idea: Aromatherapy Meets Pest Control, a DIY mosquito repellant with a touch of style. Mosquitos devour me whenever I venture outside in the evening during the summertime. It’s as if every little bug is waiting to take a bite out of me as soon as I set foot outdoors. Enjoying the summer weather with these tiny predators around is challenging! I dislike spraying chemicals on my arms and legs, and I wouldn’t say I like the greasy film it leaves behind.
Practical, Easy, and Safe
I spotted this herbal concoction on Kirsty Gore’s Instagram (@kjg_home) and thought I would share it because it is practical and lovely. All you need is fresh lemons, lemongrass oil, rosemary, lavender, and mint. Round up a few clear vases and tea lights that I know you have lingering in the back of your cabinet, and you are in business.
Simple Ingredients
Spiral cut the skin from one or two of the lemons, add a few slices of lemon, sprigs of rosemary and lavender, a leaf or two of mint, and a couple of dashes of lemongrass oil to the vase(s). Fill with water to about 3 inches from the top of the glass and float a tea light or two or three, depending on the size of your vase. Light them, and voila! It’s decorative, functional, and easy. Plus, it only costs a few dollars, making it a savvy and resourceful solution that also gives you a lovely tablescape for entertaining or just for you to enjoy.
Fragrant, Safe and Effective
This all-natural mosquito repellent is safe, effective, and smells lovely, making it perfect for outdoor gatherings or relaxing on the patio. Aromatherapy meets bug repellant. Give it a try and say goodbye to those bothersome mosquitoes! Enjoy a bug-free and fragrant summer, all thanks to this simple, cost-effective, and lovely DIY solution you can trust to keep those pesky bugs at bay.
See all the ways to Refresh your home!
Thanks to Kristy Gore for the idea.
